Description: Yesterday, at 11:04 in the evening, Somers Fire was dispatched to Old Mill Road in Shenorock for a reported house on fire. Chief of Department Car 2441 responded within minutes after dispatch. Fire units arrived on scene to report a possible extinguished porch fire, and units continued to investigate. Upon investigation, a light smoke condition was found in the attic space. Ladder 48 set up in front of the structure, and deployed the ariel ladder to the roof line as a precautionary measure. A hose line was stretched and put into operation to mitigate the spread of the fire. Engine 183 deployed 5 inch supply line to Ladder 48 and connected to the hydrant near by. Somers Fire Units opened up the interior and exterior walls of the house to find charing. Somers Fire Units operated for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes before returning to service.
