The Somers Volunteer Fire Department holds weekly training/drills. This ensures that our members are trained and proficient in the essential skills necessary to complete our mission and serve the public. As pictured, drills include hands-on basic firefighting skills such as hoseline advancements, forcible entry, ladder operations, engine operations, vehicle extrication/stabilization, and more!

Additionally, fire apparatus Engineers are assigned to individual fire apparatus’ to ensure weekly ‘rig checks’ are completed.
